Poppy’s Prognostication: Will it be a long winter, or early spring?

Join Poppy the Groundhog, her woodland friends, and Acorn Acres at Hempfield Apothetique on Thursday, February 2 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. for a scavenger hunt, wildlife fundraiser, beer release with Our Town Brewing, and official prognostication at 11a.m. where Poppy will determine whether we have six more weeks of winter or an early spring!

Shop for wellness and support the wildlife! Thursday only, 30% of all sales at Hempfield Apothetique will be donated to Acorn Acres Wildlife Rehabilitation, plus you will receive a small gift with every purchase.

Acorn Acres specializes in squirrels, bunnies, and woodchucks; making sure they get a second chance at life by offering a clean, quiet, and predator-free environment where they can grow, thrive, and recover. For Lancaster County and surrounding areas, Acorn Acres acts as a free resource to help care for vulnerable animals.

This family-friendly event gives the community a chance to meet and learn about local wildlife, participate in a themed scavenger hunt, snack on refreshments, and chat with local businesses Ville and Rue & Our Town Brewery.

Ville and Rue, joins us as a vendor and local design guru, offering artisan decor and a special release Poppy the Groundhog pillow.

Our Town Brewery is releasing a special edition “Looking Within” IPA, with $1 from each beer supporting Acorn Acres. Looking Within is a light-bodied, hazy IPA that will be available for purchase in four packs, and also on draft at the Our Town tasting room.

“El Dorado and Citra bring intense aromas of orange zest, grape bubblegum and grapefruit juice. An energetic IPA meant to push us through to spring!,” said Rob Tarves, brewer at Our Town.

Follow the festivities to Decades for a special Happy Hour with Poppy from 4:30-6:30p.m. Her featured cocktail, the “Snap, Kraken, Pop!” will donate $1 to Acorn Acres for every cocktail sold.
