Rhythm for Our Soul – Drumming Workshop & Performance
May 7 @ 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm
$20.00 – $108.00Rhythm for Our Soul – Drumming Workshop Series & Performance
It began with the Mother’s heartbeat, and we are all still connected. Let’s drum together!
Similar to our single Drumming Circle sessions, each student will learn the history of djembe drums, traditional rhythms, and as a class, we will build upon what we have learned in each class, leading up to a group public performance. Tammi will lead us through some of the ancient traditional rhythms and inspire you to express the rhythms in your own soul. Did you know that drums have notes? Learn the 3 traditional notes, the history of the instrument, and its culture. Express your own rhythms, learn traditional – and non-traditional – songs, movements, and most definitely have some fun! Please let us know ahead of time if you need a djembe drum.
DATES: Tuesday, May 7, 14, 28, and June 4, 11, 25, 2024
PREFORMANCE DATE: Friday, July 5 (First Friday in Downtown Lancaster)
TIME: 6:00 pm – 7:15 pm (please arrive 15 minutes early)

WHAT TO BRING: Wear comfortable clothing, bring your water bottle, and get ready to rock! If you have a djembe, bring it, but if not, please let us know to bring one for you. When we play drums, we will remove rings and large items around your wrists (bulky bracelets or watches).
