Doors open at 6:30 PM, and so does the Street Poetry Open Mic signup sheet. Whether you’re a poet, singer, rapper, or just have something to say, this is your chance to shine. The open mic kicks off at 7 PM, hosted by the incredible local poet Abstract Samm. Bring your voice and take the stage!

When the open mic wraps, the main event begins at 8 PM. Prepare for electrifying performances from rappers Jae Lou, Melvee, Toneruth, and Cooway. Their music will light up the night and leave you inspired.

Jae Lou

Jae Lou is a star in the making — a voice born in the Bronx, raised by struggle, and built to shine. At 28, he’s lived through pain most only hear about, and now he’s turning that pain into powerful, melodic records that hit both the heart and the streets. Mel Vee

Mel Vee, a 26-year-old rapper hailing from Lancaster, PA, brings a multi-stylistic edge to his music. Known for singles like Invader Zim, which blends hard rock energy with rap, his sound defies boundaries. His latest EP, Smoking Chambers, channels an old-school hippie rap vibe and is available on platforms like Apple Music and Spotify. Mel Vee often performs with the artist collective LARGER THAN LIFE, fresh off their debut East Coast tour.

ToneRuth

From the small city of Coatesville right outside of Philadelphia, ToneRuth is looking to make his name known throughout the world. Coming from various trauma, depression, self doubt, failures, to times of triumph, feelings of bliss, and love, this artist dives deep into himself and does it without holding anything back. Stream his new album Kuroi Masuku II wherever you listen to music and get ready to go on a journey.

Abstract Samm

Abstract Samm is an artist, musician and poet originally from Savannah, Georgia. For the last four years, she’s been around the poetry and music scenes in Lancaster, usually seen playing guitar outside of the Fulton Bank downtown. You never know what she’s getting into from directing music videos for Mel Vee and Circumstantial Saint to co-hosting Puff N Poet at The Lounge. Samm (don’t forget that second m) is the Taylor Swift of spoken word, so expect a love poem or two no matter where she’s at. 

MUST BE 21 years or older to attend the class.

Please note: This is a cannabis-friendly space. Only combustion of cannabis is allowed onsite (no tobacco). Absolutely NO OUTSIDE CANNABIS is allowed onsite. All cannabis must be purchased in house.

BYOB Policy for The Lounge at Hempfield Apothetique:

We aim to provide a safe, enjoyable, and classy environment for all guests. Please carefully review our BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle) policy:

While we specialize in providing premium hemp-derived THC-infused cocktails and products, we also allow guests to bring their own alcoholic beverages to enjoy during their visit. To ensure a seamless experience for all, we have established the following BYOB guidelines:

1. Bottle Fee

• Guests bringing their own alcoholic beverages are required to pay a $20 bottle fee per bottle. Six-pack fee is $10 per six pack. This fee helps cover the costs of providing use of the space, glassware, and the clean-up services associated with BYOB.
• The fee applies to each bottle brought into The Lounge, including wine, spirits, and other beverages.

2. Permitted Beverages

• BYOB includes: wine, spirits, beers, ciders. Coolers or other beverages are not permitted.
• Alcoholic beverages must arrive in sealed, unopened containers.

3. Age Requirements

• All guests must be 21 years or older and provide valid identification upon entry.

4. Responsible Consumption

• We encourage responsible consumption and reserve the right to refuse service or request that individuals discontinue alcohol consumption if necessary.
• No drinking is permitted directly from open bottles or cans.

5. Bud Bar Offerings

• Guests can purchase mocktails from our Bud Bar to use as mixers for their beverages, enhancing their BYOB experience with our unique creations.

6. Pairing with Lounge Offerings

• Guests are welcome to enjoy their BYOB beverages alongside our hemp-derived THC products and infused offerings for a complete experience.

7. Payment and Entry

• The $10-$20 bottle fee must be paid upon entry at the bud bar before beverages are served.

8. Outside Mixers and Glassware

• Please refrain from bringing outside mixers or glassware. We will provide appropriate drinkware, and additional mixers can be purchased at the Bud Bar.
