Regularly, people interested in getting approved for a PA Medical Marijuana (MMJ) card mistakenly think that we can certify them. While I am a registered nurse, certified in Advanced Cannabis Training, and PA Dispensary Agent certified, I do not have the credentials or authorization to evaluate someone’s medical condition and approve them for the PA Medical Marijuana program.
In this article, I’ll step you through…
- The process for obtaining a PA MMJ card
- Ways I can help you get the best outcomes from your MMJ certification
Four Steps for Obtaining a PA MMJ Card
If you’re interested in getting a PA medical marijuana card, below are the steps you must take.
- Register on the PA Medical Marijuana Program website. (This does not guarantee you will be approved as a cardholder, but it will streamline the process with the Pennsylvania Department of Health if you’re approved after completing the following steps.)
- Get evaluated by an approved physician (or other approved practitioner) who can determine if your condition qualifies you for a medical marijuana card. (We highly recommend Sara Ambruzzi, D.O.)
- Pay for your medical marijuana identification card. (Currently, the cost is $150 for initial certification and $50 for renewals).
- Expect your card to arrive by mail in approximately 14 days.
After you receive your card, you can take it to any Pennsylvania medical marijuana dispensary. Some dispensaries require that you set an appointment for your first visit.
How a Medical Marijuana Consultant Can Help You
Many cardholders feel overwhelmed and confused by the options available at dispensaries. With a plethora of cannabis strains and various methods of administration available, it can be challenging to choose what will work best for your condition and help you achieve the results you’re looking for.
As a medical marijuana consultant, I remove the mystery and intimidation of shopping at a dispensary. After you’ve obtained your card, I can help you determine which cannabis products and usage methods will most effectively alleviate your symptoms.
I have various consultation appointment options to choose from:

- Recommendations before your dispensary visit to help ensure optimal results from your MMJ prescription
